Job Description

Due to continued organizational growth, Liberty Healthcare Corporation is now hiring for multiple new Housing Specialist positions to support the California Conditional Release Program.

About the program

The California Conditional Release Program is a statewide program which exclusively serves formerly incarcerated adults who are transitioning into the community.

With community safety as the top priority, the program seeks to support clients so they may live healthy and productive lives in the community.

Program objectives

  • Community safety
  • Preventing client recidivism
  • Transitioning clients from hospital treatment into the community
  • Securing housing and community supports
  • Proactively addressing client needs and risk factors
  • Providing behavioral health services, case management, 24/7 monitoring, and transportation for clients

Role description and impact

As a Housing Searcher, you will focus on identifying appropriate housing in the community for program clients.

You will play a key role in promoting community safety and helping to create a brighter future for people who seek to overcome the obstacles associated with past incarceration and hospitalization.

Responsibilities

  • Researching rental housing markets
  • Creating lists of viable housing options for program clients
  • Evaluating housing options for alignment with client conditions of release
  • Developing relationships with landlords and property managers
  • Collaborating with Liberty’s Housing Coordinator, Regional Coordinators and Case Workers

Work setting and schedule

This is a remote first position which will allow you to primarily work from your home office in California and require you to occasionally travel to locations throughout the State as needed.

You will work on an as needed basis, approximately 15 hours weekly.

Pay and perks

  • $35.00 per hour
  • Laptop and mobile phone will be provided
  • Reimbursement for approved travel expenses

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience successfully procuring housing for justice-involved individuals and/or people with mental illness
  • California residency
