Position Summary:
The Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) plays a key clinical leadership role in providing holistic, person-centered healthcare services across Integrea’s programs. This role includes conducting medical and psychiatric assessments, prescribing legend drugs, managing complex medical needs, and consulting closely with physicians, behavioral health staff, and residential teams. The CRNP ensures high standards of care and actively supports health education, medication management, and overall wellness for consumers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical and Medical Oversight
- Conduct regular assessments of consumer medical and mental health status.
- Order and coordinate medical and behavioral healthcare services as needed.
- Prescribe legend drugs in accordance with CRNP protocols and formulary guidelines.
- May conduct rounds at Brief Intensive Treatment (BIT) programs.
- Perform nursing assessments and provide recommendations related to diet, hygiene, behavior, and physical/emotional well-being.
- Collaborate regularly with physicians, psychiatrists, and clinical teams.
- Ensure documentation of vitals (blood pressure, pulse), weight, and seizure activity per program guidelines.
- Monitor and review medical records for timely doctor and dental visits.
- Provide emergency medical care as needed and ensure emergency kits are stocked.
- Collect or assist with collection of laboratory specimens (e.g., stool, sputum).
- Consult with clinical supervisors and physicians regarding medication side effects or behavioral concerns.
- Communicate with family members and staff regarding medical updates and follow-up needs.
- Ensure infection control policies are followed and doctor’s orders are implemented.
- Medication Management
- Issue and manage medication orders, including legend drugs, in collaboration with a physician.
- Administer medications as needed or delegate responsibility appropriately.
- Document all prescription and non-prescription medications received.
- Ensure medication security, proper labeling, and inventory tracking.
- Oversee completion of new medication forms and monitor logs for refill/review needs.
- Support safe medication practices and coach residential staff on compliance.
- Team and Consumer Support
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams and consultation meetings.
- Support decision-making around consumer placement and service needs.
- Uphold consumer rights and dignity in all care decisions.
- May lead educational groups on health topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and sexual health.
- May adjust procedures (e.g., bed checks) based on individualized medical needs.
- Identify and report safety hazards, taking corrective action when needed.
- Coordinate and attend medical appointments as needed.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date nursing notes, incident reports, and health-related documentation in compliance with agency policy and licensure standards.
- Ensure timely scheduling and follow-up for all medical, dental, and psychiatric appointments.
- Support ongoing licensure audits, accreditation readiness, and internal quality improvement initiative

Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the State of Alabama
- Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience (behavioral health or community-based care preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally competent, and recovery-focused care
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently across multiple sites.

Transportation Requirements:
- May provide transportation for consumers as needed using agency or personal vehicles.
- Maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license with personal liability insurance.
- Follow all agency transportation policies, including seatbelt usage, safe cellphone practices, and vehicle documentation.
- Immediately report any vehicle issues, accidents, or violations to appropriate personnel.

Work Environment & Schedule:
- This is an exempt, full-time position.
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST.
- This position requires in-person work and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
- Requires travel between multiple community sites.
- Fast-paced environment involving direct interaction with consumers and staff.
In-Service Training & Continued Education Requirements:
- Participation in all agency-required in-service trainings.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to enhance skills and stay informed on best practices in behavioral health.
- Completion of onboarding and any continuing education requirements as directed by the agency or supervisor.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions.
- Maintain licensure and participate in ongoing education related to mental health, ID/DD care, and medication administration.
