Job Description

The Pre-sales System Administrator, under supervision, manages the activities and operations required to support the sales and pre-sales teams. This involves configuring, maintaining and organizing upgrades for SirsiDynix applications and supporting systems, as well as working with other members of the team to design and create product prototypes.

Essential Duties

  • Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and repairs to servers and supporting systems
  • Conduct post-upgrade application and system tests
  • Collaborate with team to build functioning minimum viable prototypes for web-based applications
  • Proactively monitor system performance and respond to team reports of system issues
  • Work with customer support and engineering to troubleshoot support tickets and configuration issues
  • Document system configurations and prototype implementation processes

Additional Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new technologies to determine potential use in existing applications or protypes
  • Analyze customer and team feedback to drive future application development and system improvements
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must be able to think creatively and work independently
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems 
  • Basic web development skills including HTML, CSS and Ajax
  • Competency with JavaScript, jQuery and Node.js
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • A service-minded attitude with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills

Education (minimum requirements/equivalent)

  • AS/AA in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • One year of experience in computer management and support

Hiring Salary Range

  • $75,000 to $90,000 salary range depending on qualifications
