We are searching for a full time, 30 hour per week Endocrine Lab Technician to support our River North & Glenview clinic. The Glenview clinic is the home clinic for this position.

 This position works Monday-Friday. The hours will be three (3) days per week at 8 hours and one (1) day per week at six (6) hours; depending on the clinic location. The earliest start time can be 6:30 am. 

There is mandatory weekend coverage required which includes two (2) weekend days per month (one Saturday and one Sunday). This position also works one Holiday per year. The weekend and holiday hours are approximately 5-6 hours. Training for this position will take place at our Central Business Office in Glenview. 

The Endocrine Lab Technician conducts routine tests in a clinical laboratory for use in diagnosis and identifies course of treatment. This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing body fluid and tissue samples for abnormalities while operating various laboratory equipment and computerized tools and systems. The Endocrine Lab Technician serves patients by providing precise and accurate laboratory results for the purpose of infertility assessment and management. This is a Non-Exempt position that is eligible for overtime and is paid on an hourly basis.
Responsibilities included, but not limited to the following: 

Clinical/Technical
• Perform phlebotomy functions as needed including the preparation for both in-house testing and tests sent to outside laboratories.
• Perform hormone assays and report and record results
• Perform routine sperm preps and routine semen analyses
• Perform various office functions including photocopying, filing and retrieving patient charts, logging in laboratory tests results and assuring the appropriate physician reviews and signs off results


Team Communication
• Adhere to all policies and procedures communicated to endocrine laboratory staff
• Attend meetings as assigned
Professional Development
• Follow all state regulations regarding professional license


Confidential and Sensitive Information
• Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by keeping all patient information confidential


Scope of Financial Responsibility
• Direct all patient financial issues to the patient accounts department
• Participate in cost containment by appropriate use of supplies
• Ensure that all tests performed are billed
• Ensure that all lab specimens be sent to appropriate processing site

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; Bachelor Degree in Science preferred. 
• Must meet CLIA requirements of education and experience for Level 1 Endocrine Lab Technologist.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of laboratory experience required.
• Must have ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 
• Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
• Knowledge of office procedure and office machines (computers, fax, copier).
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
• Ability to remain calm under stress.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
