Daily Provisions is seeking a Prep Cook to be a part of the team in Danny Meyer’s newest business. Daily Provisions shares the same kitchen Union Square Cafe, a renowned New York City dining experience.  A line cook at Daily Provisions will excel at directing the fast-paced intersection between plating and service, while up-holding each dish’s integrity as it delivered to our guests. This position actively embodies, inspires, & elevates USHG’s Family Values of Hospitality, Excellence, Entrepreneurial Spirit and Integrity.

Skills & Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of common seasonal ingredients. Required to retain new knowledge of ingredients used in our cuisine and most specifically in mise en place items assigned to prep list
  • Basic knife skills and ability to work with kitchen tools and equipment
  • Retain knowledge of equipment use including but not limited to fryers, blenders, food processors, mixers, and rotisserie
  • Consistently ensure that prep duties are excellently prepped, seasoned and cooked to the standards taught by Daily Provisions culinary leaders by the designated time of completion
  • Responsible for correct product storage of all mise en place, including labeling, dating, FIFO procedures
  • Assists with deep cleaning schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining NYCDOH "A" grade work habits

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent Emotional Self Awareness under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Confidence in effectively communicating any inconsistencies to Sous Chefs and teammates
  • The ability to assist the Sous Chef in the training of new kitchen employees.

Approximate Shift Times

  • 6:30am-3:00pm
  • 9:00am-5:30pm
  • 2:00pm-10:00pm

  • Starting wage is $15.00 per hour with room for growth
