Specific Accountabilities:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Facilitate scheduled counts with inventory company and compile/analyze results
  • Responsible for maintaining and reconciling fixed assets and depreciation
  • Manage, track and facilitate insurance claims between stores and insurance company
  • Oversee and support the accounts payable department, including year-end 1099 reporting
  • Review and approve check runs
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate/resolve any variances
  • Assist with period-end variance analysis to explain variances and/or correct transactions
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget, as well as period forecasts
  • Preparation and review of period financial statements for accuracy
  • Assist with ad hoc issues that arise during the close process
  • Active role in furthering Microsoft Dynamics reporting enhancements
  • Assist in year-end activities such as W2 preparation and reporting and various year-end requirements
  • Participate in any ad-hoc requests or projects as necessary

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

 Bachelor degree  in Finance or Accounting

 

  • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting or corporate finance functions
  • Mimimum 3 years in supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with inventories, fixed assets, and accounts payable/accounts receivable
  • Strong PC skills, including Advanced Excel.  Knowledge of Microsoft VBA a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL and Crystal Reporting, Intermediate to Advanced skills a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task especially during period end
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Must be able to quickly change priorities to meet business needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Evaluate daily tasks for opportunities to create efficiencies and eliminate waste from established processes with a focus on automating procedures where possible
