The HL7 Engineer at Greenway Health is responsible for working with practices and third parties to implement HL7 interfaces for all Greenway product lines. The tasks include, but are not limited to, configuring various systems to implement interfaces, performing interface testing, confirming accuracy of interfaces with the end users, assisting customers on how to use the interfaces, and timely troubleshooting and problem resolution.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Configuring and implementing HL7 Interfaces 
• Processing HL7 messages 
• Performing interface testing with third parties 
• Troubleshooting issues with customers and third parties 
• Assisting customers with error correction and proper interface workflow 
• Migrating data from existing systems to replacement systems that are either on premise or in a hosted environment 
• Documenting all pertinent data related to the project  

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED 
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required  
• BA/BS degree preferred  
• 3 - 5 years of demonstrated experience in HL7, TCP/IP Sockets, HTTP(S), (S)FTP(S) 
• 1 - 3 years of experience with MIRTH and/or Corepoint preferred 
• 1 - 3 years of experience with EMR, VMM software, and Intergy software preferred  
• Experience with supporting and training end users 
• Experience with networking and remote connectivity  

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Ability to configure transport protocols such as TCP/IP Sockets, HTTP(S), (S)FTP(S) 
• Capable of learning HL7 and various other interface standards 
• Ability to organize multiple projects and priorities 
• Ability to set and meet personal deadlines 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Working knowledge or proficiency in the following concepts is desired; HL7, CCDA, XML, JSON, TCP/IP, Web Services, FHIR and Amazon Web Services. 
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for the majority of the workday 
• This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard the majority of their workday 
• This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as incoming and outgoing communications via the computer and/ or mobile devices. 
• The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates 
• The work environment is an open room with other associates and noise from others will be part of the regular workday
