The Manager of Product Development is responsible for implementing the development process to resolve issues and identify opportunity areas, with a strong emphasis on AWS migration, support for GWH Primesuite and Intergy, automation, and Terraform. This role will lead product development teams and establish best practices and standards related to engineering processes throughout all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). You will oversee AWS migration projects and ensure seamless support for AWS environments while integrating automation processes and Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide development, implementation, and deployment guidance as per approved designs, collaborating closely with stakeholders.
- Oversee AWS migration projects and provide ongoing support for AWS environments, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business objectives.
- Manage and support applications such as GWH Primesuite and Intergy, ensuring their integration and optimal functionality within the product development lifecycle.
- Integrate automation processes into development workflows and utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Ensure that functional engineering domain expertise is deployed and integrated efficiently to meet project requirements and deliverables across all locations.
- Provide leadership, vision, and strategy to align the daily operations of the development teams with both present and long-term business goals.
- Develop and enhance architectural design frameworks to ensure high-quality information systems are delivered expeditiously and are aligned with business objectives.
- Manage technically focused scrum teams, potentially across multiple locations, to ensure effective project execution and delivery.
- Must balance technical perfection with customer needs, working closely with Product Managers, SRE, and architect teams.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, computer science, or another related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 10-15 years of experience directly related to the essential duties and responsibilities specified.
- A background in healthcare and healthcare technology is highly preferred
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Expert knowledge of AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM).
- Strong experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, SQL etc.).
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design principles.
- Extensive experience with cloud integration and migration.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS certified Developer associate)..
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for most of the workday
- This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard most of the workday
- This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as in-coming and out-going communications via the computer and/or mobile devices
- The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates
