Job Description

The Senior Analyst - FP&A is a critical role within the Finance department, responsible for managing the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions at a more advanced level. This role involves working closely with senior management, business leaders, and other departments to provide insights, improve financial performance, and ensure financial alignment with strategic business goals. The Senior Analyst will own key financial processes such as budgeting, long-term financial projections, variance analysis, and reporting, playing an essential role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for Finance and BI systems
  • Assists with the design of Finance and Business area dashboards.
  • Assists in developing operating expense management processes and line-level detail across the organization. Implements newly created processes for each department as applicable.
  • Performs reconciliations as needed at the line-item level.
  • Researches and troubleshoots any items identified within the reconciliation process until resolved
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly variance analysis
  • Generates trending analysis or reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Assists business owners with compliance towards budget targets and policies
  • Participates in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and special finance projects as needed
Skills & Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Business/Finance/Economics/MIS or other Technical/Analytical majors
  • Four (4)+ years of Financial Analysis or other relevant Technical/Analytical experience
  • Experience and/or aptitude with Financial and BI systems
  • Experience with Adaptive, Domo, SalesForce, or similar software experience desirable

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather data, understand financial needs, and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Analyze financial performance against targets and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate the potential impact of business decisions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to drive performance improvements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of financial/business modeling in Microsoft Excel and database/SQL experience
  • Working knowledge of the principles of financial statements, ratio analysis, and trend analysis
  • Ability to work autonomously, interact with management and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for the majority of the workday
  • This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard the majority of the workday
  • This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as in-coming and out-going communications via the computer and/or mobile devices
  • The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates
