Job Description

Kane's Furniture is searching for a dynamic and motivated Website Manager to join our Store Support Center in-person in Pinellas Park!

For over 75 years Kane's has provided fine furnishings to Florida communities in our 17 stores across the state, while Kane’s has been providing our associates with the tools and training to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing!

Manage the day to day responsibilities of our Kane’s website. Our Website Manager will have responsibility for Kane’s Furniture’s web properties, including ownership of all web development for corporate web properties, requiring close collaboration with IT, Operations and Marketing teams. This person will implement content updates and ensure relevance, consistency and accuracy while in collaboration with Chief Information Technology and Chief Marketing Officer. You will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

  Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Develop clean, maintainable and extensible code using up-to-date technologies and practices, platform and industry standards including web-authoring tools, coding standards, browser standards, and other web technologies
  • Design/redesign, and ongoing maintenance, updates and additions of corporate website and micro sites
  • Post web documents and media content; including product information, edit photos for web optimization, and edit content for spelling, grammar, and syntax.
  • Work with other team members to complete web design tasks
  • Work with the IT department to maintain robust web server security standards, to train and provide meaningful documentation in support of continual upkeep of the website
  • Act as the point of escalation in answering technical inquiries about the website and to troubleshoot, debug and resolve any website issues
  • Manage website trouble-ticketing system and define priorities
  • Oversee SEO and Google Analytics
  • Advising on new technologies and responsive methodologies.
  • Oversee development of future mobile responsive design
  • Optimizing web application performance.
  • Programming, updating, and managing server-side code.
  • Integrating with third-party APIs and existing frameworks.
  • Be responsible for load-balancing and recommendation of speed improving methodology for web server
  • Programming, updating, and managing databases used in online and offline executions.
  • Work closely with Chief Information Technology to maintain structured code.

Skills & Requirements

These are the skills and experience a successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of progressive website development and related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, technical area preferred or technical training equivalent
  • Knowledge of server, network, and hosting environments
  • Working knowledge of: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, MySql, PHP, ASP.Net
  • Familiarity with security precautions across web applications
  • Experience with eCommerce sites and platform familiarity including but not limited to Shopify (preferable), Demandware, Oracle Commerce, Magento, Volusion
  • Experience with Content Management Systems
  • Working knowledge developing cross platform/browser compatibility (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.)
  • Willingness and ability to learn and utilize proprietary software
