About the Position

Assist to make therapy sessions productive under the supervision of the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant, occupational or occupational therapy assistant, keep the therapy treatment area clean and organized, perform administrative duties that facilitate the efficient functioning of the therapy department (scheduling patients for therapy and personal training, performing insurance verification, etc.), provide personal training 1:1 with clients and teaching group exercise classes in building.

Job Duties

  • Provide assistance where needed in the rehabilitation department
  • File and copy documentation done by therapists in the department
  • Maintain forms and supplies needed within the department
  • Assist with patient transportation
  • Assist the program director(s) in projects that support the department
  • Support community programming by participating in various educational/exercise themed events
  • Assist with calling insurance providers to obtain authorization
  • Provide 1:1 personal training sessions with clients
  • Teach group exercise classes in health care center and al/il building as needed

Job Requirements
  • Basic education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Preferred education requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Biology or similar; Pre-PT or Pre-OT student preferred
  • Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Personal training certification through ACE, NASM, ACSM, or NSCA that is kept up to date
Skills
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication
  • Effective interpersonal skills with strong focus on customer service
  • Excellent computer skills
