About the Position
Join our dedicated home health team as a Speech Language Pathologist and embark on a rewarding journey to enhance the well-being of our patients. In this position, you will work with our dynamic and passionate team. At Goodwin House, the SLP develops and implements the safe delivery of high-quality therapy services to seniors in a life plan community. The SLP is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team that strives to ensure older adults can live their best lives.
Job Duties:
- Provides SLP treatments to overcome specific losses of function due to disease and injury, under an SLP's Plan of Care, and as dictated by the Commonwealth of Virginia Speech Therapy Practice Act
- Effectively communicates to clarify the Plan of Care, relay resident’s progress with treatment, report any adverse effects of treatment, report medical decline or inability to follow through with recommended treatments, and offers suggestions to alter and progress the Plan of Care based on knowledge and experience with that particular resident
- Documents treatments/services according to the Rehab Department’s protocols and Medicare guidelines
- Coordinates resident’s treatment with nursing staff, physical and speech therapists
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelors’ degree in speech/language pathology is required.
- Must possess a valid and current state Speech Language Pathology license.
- CPR certified (adult only)
- May be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, and etc. up to 25 lbs. throughout the workday, getting assistance when needed is a must!
