Location: Falls Church, VA

Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday

 

About the Position

Assisted Living Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the daily operations in both areas and providing overall leadership and daily management on The Terrace.  In collaboration with the Assisted Living Administrator, this role plans, organizes, and supports the operations of both Assisted Living and The Terrace, while also responsible for the integration of the Rhythms Program. Key responsibilities include supporting daily operational oversight, communication of essential information to stakeholders and ensuring the highest standards of resident care and customer services with the Assisted Living / The Terrace.

All team members are responsible for extending the mission and values of the organization by understanding the needs of those they serve. Each resident, team member and community member will be treated in a dignified manner with respect, kindness, and understanding. Key Duties

  • Provides direct supervision and leadership to The Terrace team, including recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, disciplinary action, and performance evaluations. Works collaboratively with Charge Nurses ensuring hands-on support in daily workflows and adherence to care standards.
  • Ensures all team members complete required monthly Relias training, including additional dementia training for new hires. In collaboration with the Assisted Living Administrator, conducts timely performance evaluations with meaningful conversations.
  • Creates and maintains monthly staffing schedules in OnShift, making daily updates as needed. Coordinates with the Nursing Supervisor and Assisted Living Administrator to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Completes and submits payroll for Assisted Living team members, with final approval by the Assisted Living Administrator. Monitors overtime and utilizes strategies to reduce overtime and meet financial metrics.
  • Assists in developing and managing the Assisted Living budget. Works with the Assisted Living Administrator to ensure revenue and census targets are met or exceeded. Identifies areas of opportunity where necessary.
  • Performs daily rounds in all areas to monitor team member compliance with established policies and procedures for supervision of care, coordinating specific resident/family care requests, customer service feedback and resolution.
  • In collaboration with the Assisted Living Administrator, develops and implements appropriate plans of correction from identified deficiencies in compliance with Goodwin Living expectations for regulatory compliance.
  • Develops and distributes a monthly team and quarterly family newsletters. Plans and leads initiatives and events that promote team satisfaction and recognition.
  • Supports the Assisted Living Administrator with various administrative tasks and participates in the Manager on Duty rotation. Serves on designated community committees to represent the needs and perspectives of the Assisted Living team.
  • Collaborates with the Sales and IDT teams to support internal and external prospective residents interested in transitioning to Assisted Living / The Terrace.
  • Provides tours, conducts pre-residency assessments, and recommends appropriate placement. Coordinates with departments such as IT, Facilities, and Housekeeping to ensure apartments are move-in ready.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all new admissions and leads a person-centered onboarding process by coordinating check-ins with the Assisted Living Administrator and Social Worker.
  • Maintains open, respectful, and professional communication with residents, families, volunteers, team members, and other stakeholders.

 

Job Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Assisted Living Administrator or currently in an AIT program
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience with data entry and proficient computer skills is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with others
