About the Position:

The Administrator of Health Care is primarily responsible for providing leadership and direction for the delivery of health services to residents throughout the continuum. Provides direct supervision and oversight of the health and wellness departments (Health Care Center and Assisted Living). Provides leadership, supervises, and is responsible for establishing philosophy and procedures consistent with organizational goals, objectives, mission, and vision. 

$150k-$165k and an annual performance bonus of up to 10%

Job Duties:

Policies and Procedures/Compliance/ Regulatory Requirements/Goals & Objectives

  • Monitors assigned functional areas(s) for compliance to applicable state and federal regulations; identifies compliance concerns, works collaboratively with colleagues to remind identified issues in a timely manner.
  • In conjunction with Executive Director and consistent with organizational goals,
  • Develops assigned areas’ objectives and action plans for achievement of objectives within agreed-upon timeframes; involves team members as appropriate; regularly reports status of goal attainment to manager.
  • Monitors compliance with governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Serves as a resource to GL regarding Medicare/Medicaid compliance and billing requirements. 

Financial

  • Defines operating and capital budget requirements for above programs and monitors financial performance.
  • Operates department(s) within established budgetary parameters; prepares budgets and related reports as required and continuously monitors financial performance; reports variances of actual to budgeted financial performance to Executive Director on a regular basis.

Team Members Relations

  • Monitors team members’ morale, skill levels, and effectiveness to initiate appropriate training.
  • Provides leadership to team members through regular communication, involvement, training, and coaching; identifies corrective action as needed and provides recognition as appropriate; creates environment in which team members can do their best work.
  • Provides leadership by being a role model and maintains effective communication with and feedback from team members in department.
  • Actively participates in the hiring process of select positions.
  • Actively participates in disciplinary and termination decisions.
  • Provides meaningful feedback including timely completion of performance appraisals, and rewards team members appropriately.

Strategic

  • In conjunction with the Director of Nursing and consistent with organization goals, develops objectives and action plans for achievement of goals; develops agreed-upon timeframes; involves other staff as appropriate; regularly provides a status update to the Executive Director.
  • Monitors innovative methods and trends in the care of older adults and implements or recommends new programs to ensure the highest quality services in the future.
  • Develops metric to measure indicators for success, including, but not limited to operational effectiveness, resident satisfaction, and team member engagement. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience.
  • Must possess a current Virginia Nursing Home Administrator’s license.
