Octo Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking an Ops/Integration Engineer who will support the Senior Cloud Engineer and Operations Lead by being responsible for production environment configuration management, “air-gap” management, and integration of the Globe, CAPNET, and NGA.mil applications on their cloud-based infrastructures.  Will assist with deployments and serve as ISP-like resource bridging understanding of infrastructure, enterprise services, applications, configurations, internal web services, and interfaces.  Will provide expertise required to diagnose bugs, test solutions in test and production environments, and implement fixes in coordination with the Software team as required. 

  • Integrate new tools and applications into existing systems
  • Extend technical support during preparation, installation and system maintenance
  • Manage configuration differences between operations and development testing environments
  • Manage resolution of technical issues when a system problem occurs
  • Manage operational installations, configuration, or other integration procedures.
  • Manage ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Manage maintenance of system standards.
  • Coordinate with the Infrastructure Service Provider (ISP) to provide site operational status on a regular basis
  • Manage resolution of ISP problems
  • Manage deployment of baseline updates
  • Manage Tier 2 support in troubleshooting entity incidents
  • Manage repair and recovery from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Skills & Requirements
  • Associates Degree
  • 3-5 Years of Experience Performing COTS installations, Maintenance and Support (e.g. MS Windows Service 2008)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot installations and operational issues
  • Experience with integrating applications on Windows and Linux sOS
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Must have the capability for planning, organizing, directing and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasks
  • Must enjoy working with others and collaborating with various stakeholders
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Confident and professional manner when dealing with peers and organizational personnel at all levels
  • Able to effectively communicate complex topics and procedures with team members and all other organizational personnel
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and focus
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision necessary
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience with MS SharePoint 2013
  • Experience with Node, Apache, and Loopback
  • Certification and Accreditation processes (Including ICD 503)
  • Documentation development
