Octo Consulting Group is seeking a Business Analyst to join our growing team in Washington, DC. The Federal government needs requirements development and management support along with business analysis and planning support to include conducting requirements reviews, managing and tracing requirements, facilitating requirements workshops and providing requirements best practices coaching and training. This consultant will help mature the Agency’s Requirements Management program and will be responsible for providing business analysis and requirements development and management expertise to a Federal client.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical expertise to capture business goals and objectives for each supported office
  • Develop, analyze and document business requirements using a business-process mapping approach
  • Support business use case workshops and capture information during facilitated sessions
  • Analyze business process flows to develop activity models and detailed requirements
  • Leverage all captured information to develop detailed requirements
  • Provide expertise in Requirements Management and Business Analysis
  • Create and maintain requirements documentation (e.g., Functional Requirements Document (FRD), Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), etc.)
Skills & Requirements
  • At least 5 years of post-collegiate professional experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Business Analysis, Acquisition, Requirements, and/or BPR
  • Ability to quickly adjust and adapt to changing client demands
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Visio)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
