The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for providing functional expertise in the areas of requirements analysis and development for the systems applications and training.

Work scope may include any/all of the following duties:

  • Provides maintenance, sustainment, enhancement, and integration support various financial management applications, including day-to-day system coverage, data analysis, requirements development based upon prioritization of Air Force (AF) wide block releases, tracking/reporting resources, providing updates, and other work relating to current financial management applications modules.
  • Supports resolution of Help Desk Tickets. Creates and updates the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
  • Delivers standardized and specialized training for the various financial management applications targeted towards functional, technical and Ad Hoc audiences; provide as part of each minor and major system release to the program’s training team.
  • Creates Change Management Documents, Software Configuration Management Plan, and Training documents.
  • Provides input to the Software Development Plan, Preliminary Design Document and Software Design Document.
  • Reviews the Software Test Plan, Software Test Descriptions, and Software Test Reports.
  • Supports the Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and Test Readiness Review(s).

Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+  years of related work experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must pass drug testing.
  • Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management. 
  • Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.
  • Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.
  • With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.
  • Must be able to work within the normal shift hours required by the contract.
  • Physical requirements – Sedentary: involves sitting most of the time buy may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Travel requirements – as needed, expected to be less than 10%

Knowledge, skills & abilities required: 

  • Employee has knowledge of requirements analysis and development acquired through education or significant training.  Identifies, analyzes, and resolves complex/difficult problems.

Training & Certifications:  

  • Employee must possess professional training or equivalent experience in one of the following types of disciplines: computer science; computer systems; decision support; computer security; electronic commerce; information architecture planning and design; engineering; operations research; modeling and simulation; math; physics; systems analysis; business or management. 
  • Must maintain proficiency in his/her field by obtaining/maintaining skill levels as necessary.

  • Employee independently identifies and resolves conventional problems which may require deviations from accepted policies or instructions.

Complexity of tasks/responsibilities

  • Work consists of a variety of duties that involve many different and unrelated processes and methods pertinent to this field.
