Octo is currently seeking a Helpdesk Specialist to join a growing team on an exciting and highly visible Operations & Maintenance project for a DoD customer.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide tier 2 and tier 3 help desk support for enterprise finance web application software and hardware.
  • Provide subject matter expert support to resolve issues that could not be resolved at the tier 2 level related to hardware, software and operating system issues.
  • Provide support for desktop hardware and software, laptops, mobile devices and office appliances.
  • Oversee helpdesk ticketing system/providing rapid response time/resolution to requests.
  • Evaluate new technologies, take charge of special projects and fulfill on-call responsibilities
  • (Onboarding/off boarding): New account creation in various platforms/Processing of user terminations.

Skills & Requirements
  • 1+ year of IT infrastructure experience; up-to-date on all relevant software, technology, and equipment.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Customer service skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Microsoft systems and a proven ability to solve problems in a deadline-driven/ software enterprise class environment.
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities, anticipate executive needs and adapt to changes in schedule and procedure.
  • Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Experience in a help desk environment/position.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.


  • AA/BS Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or related field.
