IMC is hiring a Business Development and Preconstruction Manager to join our dedicated and growing Business Development team. Ideally this candidate has no less than 5-7 years of experience working in Estimating/Pre-Construction and/or a similar position and displays an interest in transitioning those skills into a business development role.  The position involves working with multiple departments at IMC in order to qualify and better assess project opportunities and then proceed to convert those pursued into active projects.

While previous Business Development experience is not a pre-requisite, a penchant for developing the skills and network associated with this line or work is required. We are looking for candidates who have a track record of building positive rapport with client / owners and understand the problem solving and attention to client needs necessary to foster trusting relationships.

  • Perform and direct research and client contact to gain access into potential markets and customers per IMC’s strategic initiatives.
  • Development of conceptual budgets for early-stage opportunities.
  • Prepare and implement strategic business development action plans for targeted markets.
  • Assist in the development of major proposals and presentations. Train and assist those project personnel committed in proposals to make effective presentations.
  • Perform as Project Manager for sales efforts & execution of plans as developed with Business Development and Marketing teams.
  • Provide thorough debriefs for sales efforts to determine opportunities for improvement. Implement changes to the sales and marketing processes to institutionalize lessons learned.
  • Track Opportunities across company via CRM Software.
  • Work with IMC Seller-Doers to strategize and follow up on potential Leads and Opportunities.
  • Assist in development and administration of account plans.
  • Organize, attend, and contribute to various sales and introductory meetings with clients, developers, architects, engineers, etc.
  • Work with Marketing team to continuously enhance our presentation content. Collect and develop industry specific case studies from IMC projects/personnel to incorporate into sales and marketing material.
  • Stay up to date on Philadelphia and surrounding MSA’s CRE activity.
  • Attend strategic networking events both regionally and occasionally outside region travel is required (NJ, PA, DE, MD).

 

Skills & Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in Estimating/Preconstruction. 
  • Solid understanding of Preconstruction and Estimating process. Willingness to learn IMC’s Conceptual Estimating process.
  • Must possess excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) with ability to assist in producing highly professional proposals and presentations.
  • Understanding of Construction Technology and ability to showcase IMC’s innovative tools/technology.
  • Ability to organize use of time in a fast-paced environment, completing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to listen in a way that builds and maintains rapport with internal and external clients.
  • Participate in open and earnest conversations. Comfortable with giving and receiving constructive criticism to achieve best result.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter attributes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
