The Lead Engineer, Development is responsible for development related problems of complex scope, extensively using standard concepts and principles. S/he has several years of experience and expert level knowledge in product development. S/he works as a fully contributing team member, under broad guidance with independent planning and execution responsibilities. S/he possesses the ability to respond to detailed queries and suggest improvement in process. One of the core responsibilities is to coach, guide and mentor junior members in the team to help them scale up faster.

Role & responsibility:
- Mentors senior members in the team for technical problems.
- May own Agile teams as a consultant on technical challenges or design of complex use cases.
- Gains technical breadth in all areas of technologies required for the product team.
- Focuses more towards building the design/architecture for complete solution not just individual functional area.
- Shares knowledge and collaborates within and outside the team using Knowledge sharing sessions. SME in at least one of areas of the product.
- Understands High level design and is able to work on non-functional requirements etc.
- Responsible for breaking down a complex problem and creating individual tasks.
- Owns stakeholder management and status reporting, with an emphasis on high level design but proficient in coding and code reviews as well.
- Works closely with the QA and Support to ensure all function defects are found and fixed within the development phase.
- Contributes significantly in reduction of defect leakage including Automation ROI.
- Has advanced knowledge of core modules of secondary product.
