Position Summary:

Central Research, Inc. is actively seeking Program Trainers in support of a potential contract award with the Army National Guard (ARNG). Multiple positions are available and may be located nationwide (virtual work environment now and post pandemic). These positions will directly support the Army National Guard Program for Military Funeral Honors (MFH) and Survivor Outreach Services (SOS). We are seeking two SOS Program Trainers to provide training for our Survivor Outreach Services Coordinators located across the nation.

SOS State Support Coordinators work alongside the state's Casualty Assistance Officer (CAO) and at minimum, within two weeks of the completion of the CAO checklist, assumes the duties and functions of caring for the family in need. Additionally, SOS Support Coordinators work with the families of all fallen Soldiers, regardless of the Army component (Active, National Guard or Army Reserve) in which they served. SOS Support Coordinators provide information, referral, and outreach to geographically dispersed surviving family members, supporting them in times of crisis at the loss of their service member.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Develop and deliver new hire, continuing, and annual training to SOS state coordinators and staff

New Hire Training Curriculum shall include, but not limited to:

  • Program Policy / Guidance
  • Reporting Requirements
  • Database Use
  • Operations Handbook
  • Travel Policy &Requirements
  • Mandatory Training &Policies

Program Training Curriculum shall include, but not limited to:

  • Program Overview & Background
  • Program requirements & expectations
  • Duty to Warn
  • Database training (SOS Module & DCIPS)
  • Survivor Benefits
  • Meeting a Survivor face to face

Continuing Training shall include, but not limited to:

  • Targeted/Identified training
  • Database Training
  • New requirements, guidance & policies training
  • Professional Development training (program, professional, personal & wellness)

Develop and deliver Bi-Annual training, Annual Training Conference, as well as “train the trainer” courses


Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):

High school diploma / GED

Two or more years’ experience as a military trainer, corporate trainer, or civilian educator

Additional Qualifications:

Be a US citizen

Be available 24/7/365 to support this program

Have knowledge of military funerals and casualty assistance programs

Demonstrate a passion for this type of work

Successfully pass a background check

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to travel on short notice

Ability to travel by air and car

Live near major airport

Possess a valid and current driver’s license
