The Work You’ll Do: 

Our business development and sales teams are amazing – seriously. But most of them are not subject matter automation experts. That’s where you come in. As part of our Technical Pre-Sales team, you will partner closely with our Direct Sales and Alliance teams to provide subject matter expertise for our VAT line of business. What does that mean? You team up with our sales executives to successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions. Deliver credibility and authority around e-Invoicing and e-Archiving, explaining the technical side of things to prospective enterprise clients. Our clients span all business sectors and sizes. You will be the solutions subject matter expert for our team serving our customers and prospects across Europe. Selling at Sovos is a true team effort – and you will be an integral part of that team!  

 

What are my responsibilities going to be, more specifically? 

  • Answer technical questions from prospective clients regarding Sovos technology, features, solutions as well as articulate Sovos technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.  

  • Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for our products and services.  

  • Provide domain expertise around tax technology - knowledge around this would be an advantage  

  • Assist in developing customer sales strategy, developing, and responding to RFPs  

  • Assist in the discovery process to help uncover unforeseen challenges and ensure the proper offering is being proposed  

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of functionality and technical architecture of Sovos solutions  

  • Develop and lead Sovos solution demonstrations with customer tax, IT and system administration professionals that are specific to their business requirements and address pain points  

  • Engage appropriate subject matter experts as needed in the sales process  

  • Maintain and continually improve demonstration capabilities, conducting internal Sales department training, demo system props and proposal content  

  • Act with integrity and demonstrate ethical behaviour in all matters with all stakeholders  

  • Take full responsibility for ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction  

  • Demonstrate initiative, drive, and determination to achieve company objectives, success, and growth  

  • Maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment to action  

 

What We Need From You: 

 
  • Experience with discovering pain and determining value with customers  

  • Comfortable working for a dynamic technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base  

  • Understand how Sovos solutions can provide capabilities and benefits in order to address the client’s business needs  

  • Ability to be organized and analytical and must be able to eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches  

  • Experience in a pre-sales or consultancy environment with an understanding of the business drivers, technology and market challenges of multi-national organisations  

  • A knowledgeable understanding of tax compliance requirements would be a distinct advantage and a willingness to expand that knowledge, essential.  

  • Experience working with finance systems, knowledge of SAP would be an advantage  

  • Experience working in or with finance functions with an understanding of their responsibilities and pain points  

  • Bilingual in German/English is essential  

  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office software including Excel, Word, & Power Point  

  • Self-motivated and strong drive to succeed  

  • Moderate travel required for client meetings, trade shows, Sovos events, and special projects
