The primary focus of this role is to provide technical leadership and quality assurance during the implementation of Sovos product on customer’s SAP systems which makes superior technical SAP knowledge a priority. The Senior Technical Consultant is expected to utilize in-depth ABAP development knowledge and technical communication skills to guide and support a team of SAP experts during enhancement developments and configuration of Sovos e-Transformation products for different countries, during implementations. A successful candidate for this position is expected to work as part of the Sovos Professional Services team and provide technical oversight and quality assurance checks during the implementation of Sovos products to heterogeneous customer landscapes comprising of both SAP and non-SAP systems that requires complex integrations. The Senior Technical Consultant is also expected to combine superior Sovos product expertise and SAP experience in problem solving and troubleshooting during solution implementation, testing and post go live stabilization phases of a project. A successful candidate is expected to possess excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and efficiently explain complex project requirements to the team and customers during project meetings. As a technical lead, the Senior Technical Consultant contributes to all projects across the team to ensure implementation quality meets Sovos’ standards and adheres to predefined timeline of the project.

The Work You'll Do:

  • Provide technical leadership to SAP experts working on complex integration projects across multiple geolocations to meet different legislation mandates.
  • Combine extensive Sovos product expertise and SAP experience in problem solving during own project implementations as well as support team members as required.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure all implementations conforms to Sovos’ best practices.
  • Oversee work done by external resources and ensure the implementation conforms to design as well as performance optimization.
  • Lead technical project communication
  • Configure Sovos e-Transformation products on customer’s SAP systems as required.
  • Perform and lead custom developments for product adaptation conforming with the identified requirements during the project analysis phase.
  • Participate in architectural discussions with customer and/or third parties to analyze technical integration requirements for successful deployment of Sovos products to the customer landscape.
  • Analyze and provide implementation work estimates for Sovos solution offerings and project change orders.
  • Collaborate efficiently with customers and Sovos global teams across different geolocations for successful implementations.
  • Lead technical discussions both internally and with the customer as needed.
  • Provide internal training to teams based on identified deficiency to continuously promote knowledge growth.
  • Work on multiple, complex implementation projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrate excellent self-learning capabilities and the ability to cope with Sovos rapid expansion approach, moving into new countries with the introduction of new products to support evolving legislations and tax laws.
  • Enhance knowledge and skills relating to new/existing/future products and rollouts as well as emerging technologies to increase technical proficiency.
  • Ensure that client implementations meet quality and scope expectations.
  • Maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment to action.
  • Participate in project teams’ and product committees’ sessions on demand.   
  • Demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness, a commitment to personal development and learning to keep pace with technology advancements.

·    More specifically, you will:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Superior technical and non-technical communication skills, oral and written.
  • Fluent and efficient command of the English language is a must.
  • Confident and comfortable working with large Fortune 1000 customers.
  • Technical team leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years of ABAP development experience with proven knowledge in:
  • ABAP Reports and Dialog Programing
  • System Integration with web services, RFCs and files.
  • SAP Authorization Objects
  • Packaged solutions and their implementation on SAP systems.
  • Regulatory software experience is an advantage.
  • ABAP Objects.
  • Invoice and delivery processes in SD, MM and FI modules.
  • ALV Grids programming.
  • BDC programming.
  • Understanding of User-Exits and Enhancements techniques.
  • Knowledge of SAP outputs techniques with Smartforms and SAP Scripts.

  • Excellent ability to lead projects to delivery of exceptional results to Sovos clients.
  • Great team player and self-learner using available product documentation.
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical experience with on premise, privately hosted and cloud-based systems.
  • Excellent time management & multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent work estimate capability that meets global project standard methodologies.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites if needed (not common, most work is done remotely)
