The Work You Will Do

The Unclaimed Property Consulting Services team supports clients with compliance and advocacy for unclaimed property, maintaining high professional standards and confidentiality. As a Consulting Manager, you will lead projects to help clients achieve compliance with state unclaimed property requirements. You’ll oversee engagements like Risk Assessments, Policy Reviews, Compliance & Voluntary Disclosure (VDA), and Audit Support, ensuring deliverables meet Sovos standards and timelines. You’ll also mentor staff, assist Senior Consulting Managers, and contribute to special projects.

More specifically, you will:

  • 69% of your time will be focused on fulfilling client needs, including:
    • Managing projects for unclaimed property compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Maintaining strong client relationships and providing compliance recommendations.
    • Developing project plans, setting goals, and aligning team efforts on deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
    • Overseeing services for Premium Reporting Clients, reviewing compliance documents, and assessing potential liabilities.
    • Conducting quality assurance reviews and supporting client discussions with auditors, legal counsel, and state administrators.
  • Use Sovos software to analyze and quantify potential liabilities and ensure compliance accuracy.
  • Manage time tracking, budgets, and project documentation to meet client engagement requirements.
  • Stay updated on evolving state requirements and train team members on compliance processes.

What We Need From You

  • History of success working in similar role; ideally in the field of Unclaimed Property Consulting including familiarity with various state unclaimed property laws and auditing techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
  • Proficient technology skills (in particular MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
  • Due to client contractual obligations– the successful candidate will have to clear a background check and drug test
