The Work You'll Do:

The Senior Software Engineer - backend - is a problem solver who uses technology to tackle complex challenges at scale. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and create impactful solutions. Responsible for the design and implementation of software that meets both functional and non-functional requirements, the Senior Software Engineer also ensures adherence to established development standards. This role requires a proactive person, sharing technical expertise and guiding the team to build and deploy high-quality software that meets customer expectations.

More specifically, you will:

• Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor other software engineers, building collaborative relationships within the Scrum Team and acting as a technical advisor to the Product Manager. Collaborate with UX/UI designers, QA testers, and DBAs to solve complex challenges.
• Development Leadership: Lead the development, testing, and deployment of complex software applications, promoting a culture of code quality, continuous learning, and improvement within the department.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct peer code reviews, design testing protocols, and ensure the product meets high standards of quality through thorough testing.
• Technical Integration: Integrate technology, processes, testing, and business practices to develop robust solutions. Enhance the team’s Continuous Development and Continuous Integration practices to drive efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshooting & Documentation: Troubleshoot issues within your areas of expertise, and create or contribute to technical documentation, release notes, and bug fix records.
• Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing learning by exploring new technologies, participating in knowledge-sharing sessions, attending conferences, and collaborating with local developer bootcamps.

What We Ask of You:

• Experience in building large scale backend projects, APIs and microservices (8+ years is ideal, but quality beats quantity!)
• Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Skilled in software/systems architecture
• Expert in service-oriented design principles
• Expert in developing resilient services in C#/.Net
• Experience with micro service patterns
• Experience with queuing, messaging or event streaming systems
• Experience building services on cloud architectures (MS Azure, AWS,…)
