The Work You’ll Do: 

The Sales Director will report to the VP of Sales and be responsible for a Regional Sales Team, within the assigned region.  This role will develop your sales team which will include interviewing, hiring, and developing employees to ensure Account Executives have a superior knowledge of Sovos solutions and sales process.

 

More specifically, you will:

  • Consistently exceed sales quota within your assigned territory through the acquisition of new named accounts and expanding offerings within existing clients
  • Maintain superior knowledge of compliance issues unique to the industry
  • Develop and sustain a business plan to gain access and exceed quota in territory
  • Understand the compliance issues unique to the industry and challenge status quo to help clients achieve a greater balance between process cost and tax risk
  • Direct marketing and canvassing
  • Build relationships with Sovos reps in other channels that can leverage access or influence in shared accounts
  • Create alliances with consultancies influencing vendor selection
  • Represent Sovos at local tradeshows and industry conferences
  • Lead the sales engagement team to develop a Sovos strategic solution
  • Conduct discovery to understand industry specific tax scenarios and business drivers
  • Orchestrate a needs analysis to uncover tax and technology issues
  • Coordinate internal Sovos resources required for the engagement
  • Deliver high impact product demonstrations, specifically addressing Sovos’ unique ability to address prospects' requirements
  • Tailor the advantage of the Sovos solution to the specific needs of stakeholders to obtain their recommendation for Sovos
  • Participate in responding to prospects Request for Proposal/Request for Information
  • Act with integrity and demonstrates ethical behavior in all matters with all stakeholders
  • Take full responsibility for ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate initiative, drive and determination to achieve results, success and growth
  • Maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm, engagement and commitment to action
  • Demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and commitment to personal development and learning

What We Need From You:

  • Minimum 5+ years track record of exceeding expectations in enterprise markets, selling either: Tax automation, compliance or consulting services (Big 4 & Tier 2 consultancies) Tier 1 or 2 ERP software packages (Oracle, SAP or PeopleSoft preferred) Bolt-on software or middleware to clients of Tier 1 or 2 ERP solutions
  • Basic understanding of database, application server and web server architecture
  • Advance English communication skills
  • Substantial travel is required for client meetings, trade shows, Sovos events, and special projects
