The Work You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Supervisor is primarily responsible for the preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting, as well as accounting controls and the assessment of technical accounting matters. This position will interact closely with members of the finance team, independent auditors and legal departments to ensure accurate reporting full compliance with all external standards. As necessary, this position will be expected to assist in special projects and process improvements

What are my responsibilities going to be, more specifically?

What We Need From You:

• Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Supervise and/or account as appropriate each accounting operation and validating that it corresponds to the real thing.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reporting including reporting to the Company’s private equity investors and lenders.
• Control and report to management variations in accounts and findings in the accounting of group companies.
• Coordinate and supervise the activities of the team in charge.
• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Ensure proper analysis of accounts monthly and as required.
• Assist with budget and forecasting activities
• Interface with other departments to verify transaction report data and issues
• Research technical accounting matters and prepare technical accounting workpapers
• Assist and coordinate relationship with external audits
• Review the impact of new or proposed accounting standards, interpretations or regulations from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, EITF, SEC and/or local Gaap
• Assist in ad hoc projects as required
• Propose change updates within the accounting financial integration process, associated with the accounting system
• Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.

What we need from you? 

• Minimum 4-5 years of progressive professional experience with public accounting and/or software industry experience preferred
• Experience with technical accounting, research and reporting
• Experience in accounts payable, bookings, controls, and payment scheduling.
• Experience in accounting reconciliations as well as required reports.
• Experience working with ERPs such as SAP, Netsuite, etc
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP is preferred
• Strong Excel skills
• Highly analytical, with a passion for accuracy
• Demonstrated problem solving ability (identify problems and develop / implement solutions)
• Ability to clearly and accurately synthesize and communicate information
• Ability to take ownership and drive projects / issues to completion.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment.
• Portuguese speaker (desired)
