The Work You'll Do:

As a Business Development Representative, you'll play a critical role in building market demand for Sovos' solutions by connecting with potential business prospects and educating organizations about how our solutions enable compliance across borders and industries.

Tax compliance isn't optional—every company, in every industry, must get it right. Through strategic networking, sales prospecting, and campaign follow-up, you'll learn about businesses and introduce them to Sovos' market-leading cloud tax software solutions that help organizations stay compliant and competitive globally.

More specifically, you will:

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to advance Sovos' marketing and sales strategies while working directly with customers to support implementation of products and services
  • Achieve pipeline creation and revenue quotas by independently and effectively introducing and marketing Sovos' solutions to customers and prospects across global markets
  • Team with Sales Executives to identify and execute territory plans, executing a formalized telemarketing and selling process to ensure achievement of team goals
  • Develop and deliver regular forecasts of revenue goals and telemarketing objectives, autonomously managing multiple sales opportunities concurrently
  • Creatively identify and implement improvements to telemarketing strategies, processes, and tools to benefit the Market Development team and enhance prospect engagement
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and technologies to optimize outreach, personalize communications, and improve conversion rates across the sales pipeline
  • Collaborate across time zones with global teams, contributing insights and best practices that drive continuous improvement in business development approaches

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with a strong team-player mindset and demonstrated ability to identify and execute ideas that improve team performance
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Quota experience preferred with demonstrated ability to exceed targets; general understanding of business, financial systems, and organizational decision-making processes
  • Ability to work effectively with mid-level and executive contacts at client organizations, demonstrating self-motivation and quick learning capabilities
  • Effective internal and external communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with the ability to present to small or large groups
  • Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills with exceptional multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with contact management solutions (e.g., Salesforce.com) and Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Creative communicator who can adapt quickly in conversation, demonstrating assertiveness, persistence, and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Openness to learning and leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity, research capabilities, and customer engagement strategies
