The Work You'll Do:
As a Senior Sales Engineer at Sovos, you will support and guide Sales Engineers while partnering with Direct Sales and Alliance teams to provide subject matter expertise for our SaaS solutions. You'll play a key role in driving strategic sales efforts, ensuring our clients receive tailored solutions that meet their complex compliance needs.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide superior domain expertise and maintain expert-level understanding of our products' functionality and technical architecture
- Challenge ineffective sales processes and behaviors while establishing and supporting best practices across the team
- Assist in the client discovery process to help uncover unforeseen challenges and ensure the proper offering is being proposed
- Guide strategic efforts to conduct sales and solutions presentations for clients of all sizes
- Develop and lead training sessions both within and outside the Sales Engineer department
- Assist Sales Engineers in designing and delivering customized solution demonstrations using Sovos SaaS solutions and services
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the creation of RFP and RFI responses for prospective new clients
- Work closely with the onboarding team to ensure a seamless handoff from sales to onboarding for new clients
- Maintain and continually improve demonstration capabilities, including internal Sales department training, demo system props, and proposal content
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance sales presentations, streamline processes, and deliver innovative client solutions
What We Need From You
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum 4+ years of sales-related experience with customer-facing responsibilities
- Ability to be strategic towards business outcomes while managing day-to-day details and deadlines
- Strong team orientation with a history of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities (at times conflicting), remain focused under pressure, and work extended hours as required
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Well-developed business ethics and the ability to maintain a high level of discretion
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed
- Minimal travel (up to 20%) required for client meetings, trade shows, and special projects including some international travel
- Experience with or openness to adopting AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance sales effectiveness
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
