The Work You'll Do

As a Business Analyst, you'll bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring our compliance software meets both regulatory requirements and customer expectations. You'll work directly with Product Owners, Regulatory Analysts, and Development teams to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable user stories.

You'll be part of our collaborative team, working alongside with experienced BAs who will mentor you as you ramp up. We expect you to start with focused tasks and progressively taking on more complex challenges.

More specifically, you will:

· Write and refine user stories - Research requirements, analyze impact, write clear stories with acceptance criteria, and refine them with Product Owners and stakeholders

· Collaborate with Product Owners to understand business workflows, elaborate on product requirements, and advise on scope

· Support Development and QA teams - Clarify requirements during development, help teams understand acceptance criteria, troubleshoot blockers, and validate delivered functionality

· Participate in Agile ceremonies - Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and story reviews to ensure alignment and clarity

· Analyze cross-product impact to ensure requirements are complete, approved by relevant stakeholders, and meet quality standards

· Foster strong working relationships with Regulatory Analysts, Development teams, Product Owners, and internal stakeholders

What We Need From You

· 1-2 years of Business Analysis experience in software development environments, OR strong Sovos product/domain knowledge with eagerness to learn BA practices

· Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal) for daily stakeholder interaction

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a solution-focused mindset (focus on "how" not just "why")

· User story writing skills or strong willingness to learn - ability to write clear stories with well-defined acceptance criteria

· Technical aptitude - comfortable with technical terminology (APIs, databases, integrations, system architecture)

· Fast learner who can quickly absorb new information and adapt to changing priorities

· Collaboration skills - ability to work effectively across diverse teams (Regulatory, Development, QA, Product)

· Results-driven attitude - focus on delivering value and meeting commitments

Nice to Have

· Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps (ADO)

· Experience in Agile/Scrum environments (Sprint Planning, Refinement sessions)

· Process mapping and documentation skills

· Experience with requirements gathering and impact analysis techniques
