The successful candidate will assist the Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach with managing a competitive Tennis program that adheres to all College, KCAC, and NAIA rules and regulations while providing a safe and accepting environment for student-athletes to grow and develop academically, athletically and one which encourages personal responsibility, sportsmanship and service to others.
This is a 10-month, part time, exempt position and is eligible for the full college benefits’ package. Campus housing is included in the compensation package.

Essential Job Functions
- Assists with year-round recruitment of high school and junior college players, including traveling to prospective games/events, phone calls and letters to both coaches and players
- Assists with delivering coaching instructions in a variety of learning styles
- Assists with pre/post workouts with a teaching approach
- Ensures tapes/video equipment are prepared for home and away games and exchange tapes with opponents
- Record statistics for each match
- Represents McPherson College and the men’s and women’s tennis program in a professional, mentoring style.

Preferred
- At least one year of collegiate coaching experience and/or one year of collegiate tennis playing, including effective leadership, communications, coaching and recruiting.
- Physical Skills: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in light to moderate
- work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and
- materials of light weight (10-25 pounds). Tasks involve demonstrating competitive
- tennis techniques and plays, requiring standing, moving, bending and jumping.
- Flexibility to travel is a requirement of this position. A valid driver’s license is a requirement of the position.
