JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and executing the company’s sales strategy while managing customer relationships, driving new business development, and overseeing the Sales & Account Management function in a small-frame plastics extrusion manufacturing environment. This role blends hands-on selling, team leadership, and strategic planning, ensuring sustainable growth, strong customer partnerships, and alignment between sales, production, and engineering operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Sales Leadership & Strategy
• Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives
• Establish sales goals, performance metrics, and revenue forecasts
• Analyze market trends, customer demand, and competitive positioning
• Support pricing strategies, margin targets, and quoting approvals
• Identify opportunities for expansion within existing markets and new industries
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, coach, and support Sales & Account Managers and sales support staff
• Set performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of sales personnel
• Foster a customer-focused, solution-oriented sales culture
• Conduct regular sales meetings and performance reviews
Customer & Account Management
• Maintain key customer relationships and manage strategic accounts
• Serve as escalation point for complex customer issues or negotiations
• Participate in major customer meetings, plant tours, and contract discussions
• Ensure consistent, professional communication with customers
• Drive customer retention, satisfaction, and long-term partnerships
Business Development
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and target accounts
• Promote company capabilities, extrusion processes, and value-added services
• Support RFQs, new product introductions, and long-term supply agreements
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production on feasibility and capacity planning
• Support customer trials, sampling, and approvals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping teams
• Communicate customer requirements, timelines, and expectations internally
• Support production launches, change management, and continuous improvement
• Align sales commitments with operational capacity and delivery performance
Reporting & Administration
• Maintain accurate CRM data, sales pipelines, and customer documentation
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and leadership updates
• Track sales performance, margins, and customer trends
• Support budgeting and long-term strategic planning efforts
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
• Plastics extrusion or industrial manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Office tools
