Morfologica, Inc. is seeking several Unix Administrators who are willing to support established teams of software engineers at various Federal Facilities throughout Northern Virginia.

Qualified candidates must have prior experience with UNIX or Linux environments. This includes responsibility for the operating system software and its successful integration with the hardware and applications software of the major computing systems across an organization.

ONLY CANDIDATES WITH ACTIVE GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCES AND APPROPRIATE POLY WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Candidates must have several years of UNIX Administrator experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs interfaces to external systems
• Develops test plans and procedures
• Establishes development, testing, staging, and operating environments
• Maintains relevant operating systems on all organizational computer systems and subsystems
• Maintains and updates documentation
• Manages software life cycles
• Plans, tests, installs, and integrates new and upgraded versions of the relevant operating systems on organizational computer systems and subsystems
• Resolves systems software problems efficiently and accurately
• Tests and integrates software and hardware
• Troubleshoots problems that may involve applications and the network

Knowledge

• Backup or archival software
• Data base management systems
• C; Microsoft Visual Basic; Prolog;
• Metadata management
• Microsoft Visual C# .NET; Perl; Java; Sybase PowerBuilder
• Hard disk arrays
• Hard disk drives 

Candidates with fewer years of experience may also be considered depending on background.
