About the Role
The Telecom and CMS Engineer work with technology engineers and company staff to ensure appropriate fundamental configuration, capacity planning, and design, of voice & data networks, are conducted. The programming and maintenance of data & voice network switches (LAN/WAN/MPLS), voice mail systems, auto attendant systems, call management systems and traffic monitoring systems. The individual will perform deployments to include new installations, equipment upgrades, equipment relocations etc. Works with vendors, customers, and third parties to evaluate and improve in-house services. Verifies service operation by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting and/or escalating problems to other members of the team or vendors.
- 10+ years Systems Engineering experience supporting a variety of operating systems and infrastructure platforms
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DMVPN, MPLS, VPN, VOIP, SIP, RTP
- Session Border Controller and QoS (DSCP/CoS) management and configuration
Working knowledge of VMware vSphere 6 virtualization
Working knowledge in network design, architecture, protocols and network topology
Ability to create a project plan in MS Project, including displaying critical path activities and inter-dependencies between activities.
Vendor management of managed services and Telecom providers
Experience in clarifying objectives, dealing with ambiguity/under-defined problems, advocating for simplification, and influencing team\Good verbal and written communication skills
