JRC Integrated Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) GxT division’s hypersonic missile program. You will be supporting the NSWC Crane and Washington DC Program Offices and will be working closely with engineers on planning, requirements, design, test and evaluation for Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Navy initiatives and other Hypersonic missile program efforts.
You will serve a team that designs, develops, builds and tests an integrated hypersonic weapon system capable of launch from surface ships, submarines, and non-afloat platforms with the ability to conduct a precision strike at Mach 5+ speeds. You will work in a flexible and dynamic team environment while gaining direct product knowledge. You will collaborate with other experienced engineers across multiple organizations to help meet safety, schedule, and cost achievements. Your ability to effectively communicate and team with various partners – military, government, and industry contractors - across differing geographic locations will be key to your success in supporting the program and mission plan.

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will...
- Design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods
- Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
- Thorough understanding of standards for 3D modeling, but heavy experience with PTC Creo toolset and integrations into Windchill
- Knowledgeable about 3D CAD neutral formats, Model-Based Definition and 2D/3D exports
- Setting standards on top of commercial standards for 3D models to enable collaboration and integration between multiple organizations
- Spearhead the integration of 3D CAD models from multiple organizations for analysis and production purposes. Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties
- Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
What you bring to the table...
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 5+ year of experience working in the mechanical engineering field
- An active DoD security clearance at the SECRET level (or above) or have held an active clearance in the past 2 years
- Superior computer skills, with solid experience in CAD, CAM, and Matlab/LabView programs
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills
