Join JRC's Strategic Defense & International Operations Team!

We are actively seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center in developing embedded systems software and FPGA firmware, primarily using C/C++ and Linux for real-time applications. The role involves designing interfaces, enhancing mission processor security, and maintaining existing systems. Candidates must have a BS degree in a relevant field, six years of technical experience, and proficiency in various programming languages and tools. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. This on-site position requires physical activity, including lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for prolonged periods.


As an Electrical Engineer with JRC, you will...

  • Design and develop electrical systems and components for projectiles, such as guidance systems, sensors, and communication devices.
  • Create detailed schematic diagrams and technical drawings to guide the manufacturing and assembly of electrical systems in projectiles.
  • Develop prototypes to test and validate the functionality and performance of electrical designs.
  • Conduct tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of electrical systems in projectiles under various conditions.
  • Use simulation tools to predict the behavior of electrical systems during projectile flight and impact.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and malfunctions in electrical systems during testing phases

What you bring to the table…

  • BS degree in engineering, science, or a technical field from an accredited institution.
  • 6+ years of professional technical experience, including 4+ years in design and integration engineering, test and evaluation, electrical systems requirements management, and using electrical systems engineering design software.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication with all levels of employees and external contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated experience with programming and scripting languages (C/C++; Verilog; Python; TCL; Shell scripts; Git Version Control)
