Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist – Receiving & Validation is responsible for receiving, validating, documenting, and processing incoming materials to support accurate inventory and reliable operations. The position serves as a key control point between Procurement, vendors, and inventory operations by ensuring materials are accurately received, inspected, recorded, labeled, and routed or stocked before entering AATC inventory.
Work Schedule:
This position supports a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, 365-day operation. The regular schedule consists of five 8-hour second shifts per week, generally from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including a 30-minute meal period. Employees must be available to work weekends and holidays based on their assigned schedule. Schedule adjustments and overtime may be required to maintain operational coverage during absences, emergencies, or other business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Receives and validates incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, delivery documentation, and other applicable records.
· Verifies quantities, item specifications, condition, and accuracy of materials prior to acceptance and system entry.
· Identifies shortages, overages, damaged goods, incorrect items, and other discrepancies and coordinates resolution with Procurement, vendors, and appropriate departments.
· Completes required receiving documentation and maintains accurate, timely system records for received inventory.
· Labels, stages, organizes, stocks, and distributes materials to designated storerooms, inventory locations, attic stock areas, or internal customers.
· Ensure materials are properly stored, identified, secured, and maintained in accordance with inventory control requirements.
· Supports inventory counts, reconciliations, audits, and discrepancy research related to received materials.
· Maintains organized and operationally ready receiving and staging areas.
· Coordinates with internal departments regarding material receipt, availability, and distribution.
· Supports established inventory controls, receiving procedures, documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Operates applicable material handling equipment and performs other related duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.
· Provides cross-functional support for laundry operations as needed to maintain coverage during staffing shortages, absences, increased workload, or other operational needs.
Safety and Operational Support:
· Follows established safety, security, and housekeeping requirements, including proper use of PPE, safe handling of materials and equipment, and applicable chemical and SDS procedures. Identifies and promptly reports hazards, unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and other concerns that may affect employees or operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately validate materials and documentation.
· Knowledge of receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and material handling practices.
· Ability to identify discrepancies and communicate issues clearly and timely.
· Ability to maintain accurate records and use computerized inventory management systems.
· Strong organizational and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Experience in receiving, inventory control, warehouse, storeroom, logistics, material handling, or a related operational environment preferred.
· Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management and business systems.
· Ability to operate applicable storeroom and material handling equipment preferred.
· Must be able to meet requirements for an ATL badge with customs seal.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Requires prolonged standing and walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving materials up to 50 pounds, including use of carts, bins, pallet jacks, and related equipment. May be required to drive on airport ramps and airfield areas as part of assigned responsibilities. Work may involve exposure to laundry equipment, cleaning chemicals, wet materials, noise, heat, humidity, dust, odors, and varying temperatures.
