Job Description

SUMMARY

Inspects or audits products or processes at various stages utilizing a variety of basic and advanced methods. Compiles and evaluates data, and initiates appropriate actions. Prepares reports for customers and/or internal management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs complex inspections or audits of products and processes at various stages within manufacturing.

Create and run CNC CMM programs

Uses of statistical tools to analyze variable and attribute data.

Maintains quality lists, logs and records.


Skills & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.

Education and/or Experience:  Minimum of one year certificate from a college or technical school and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES: In addition to the Qualifications for the position, at least some of the following knowledge, skills or abilities will be expected: calibration and some basic repair of measuring devices, preparation of First Article documentation, measurement system analysis, training on related topics.  Training may need to be provided.
