Job Description

General Summary:  Qualified individuals must possess Mechanical aptitiude, be self motivated, have the ability to diagnose/troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems in a producition Casting and Machining environment.  Candidate will also be expected to perform  preventive/predictive maintenance and conform to all OSHA  standards.  A viable candidate will be required to provide their own hand tools.  The candidate must be flexible on shift depending on need.  To apply, please provide an application and resume to HR.

 

DUTIES

  • Diagnose and repair various equipment
  • Fabricate equipment
  • Rebuild Tools
  • Read and interpret test equipment
  • Calipers
  • Work with produciton to correct quality problems as well as continuous improvement projects
  • Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the supervisor
  • Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication;Bloodborne Pathogens;Lock Out/Tag Out; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E and Ergonomics
  • When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance of the job

CLIMATE

Works in a seasonally fast paced environment under minimum supervision.  Routine responsibilities and duties involve the use of various  procedures and the application of clearly prescribed standards of practice, requiring the use of good judgement.  Must work with a high degree of accuracy.

 

 

Skills & Requirements

DUTIES STANDARDS

  • Diagnose and repair various equipment such as production melting, die casters, trim presses, x-rays, heat treat ovens, conveyance systems, CNC machines, rotary dials, trasfer lines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Fabrication of equipment including drill presses, metal breaks, plasma/acetylene torch, arc welders (vert./horz.), and mig welders
  • Rebuild gearboxes, spindles, and drill units
  • Read and interpret test equipment such as micrometers
  • Calipers, as well as perform ball bar tests

  • High School graduation or equivalent

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The job works in conditions with constand exposure (67% or more) to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.  Some overnight travel may be required.
