Job Description



Interact with commercial and technical key contacts to support the relationship with customers. Responsibilities include account management, new business development and company representation at customer sites.



  1. Marketing intelligence.
  2. Develop new customers.
  3. Develop replacement plans for existing programs.
  4. Study competition and look for new opportunities.
  5. Prepare company presentations.
  6. Makes company presentations.
  7. Participate in shows.
  8. Participate in early sourcing agreements and meetings.
  9. Prepare new program proposal.
  10. Technical reviews for new programs.
  11. Participate in quote feasibility reviews.
  12. Assist in quotes preparation.
  13. Review quotes with customer.
  14. Get feedback from customers regarding programs not awarded.
  15. Obtain customer letter of intent.
Skills & Requirements



  • Ability to deal with multiple levels of people effectively, in group and individual settings
  • Ability to effectively deal with vendors/suppliers/customers
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Basic math and business writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and manage projects to successful completion
  • Ability to learn new programs, activities and tasks

  • Strong organizational, planning and documentation skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration with at least 4 years combined manufacturing, accounting and sales experience.
  • Preferred business relationships with potential new customers for Columbus Foundry.
  • Preferred prior sales experience with ductile iron products, commercial and industrial.
  • Able to effectively forecast casting markets and develop plans to achieve business plan.
