Title:             Controls Engineer

Supervises:     Typically responsible for leading, coordinating, and monitoring the work of others who perform the same type of work as this job.  Lead responsibilities typically include training, checking the work of others and ensuring supplies and materials are available.                                                                              

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

 

As a member of the maintenance department, the Controls Technician is responsible for programming, updating, and repairing all controllers, PLCs, HMIs, Motor controls and frequency drives of all plant equipment and production machinery. Also performs regular system and software backups. Must be self motivated, have the ability to trouble shoot, diagnose, and resolve issues in a production Casting and Machining environment. Candidate will also be expected to perform Preventative/predictive maintenance and conform to all OSHA and DMI Montague standards.

 

DUTIES

 

  1. Interpret and design programs on all floor equipment.
  2. Locate and replace faulty electrical/electronic components.
  3. Complete controls related projects.
  4. Possess knowledge of high voltage applications.
  5. Disassembly, repair and reassembly of all plant and productions machinery.
  6. Perform, analyze, and interpret various types of test equipment.
  7. Work with production personnel to develop solutions to quality issues, as well as, continuous improvement projects.
  8. Ability to read, interpret and design electrical drawings.
  9. Attend seminars as required to enhance job knowledge.

  • Associates degree in Automation/Robotics/Controls/Electrical
