Job Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

 

Supervise, assist and train operators performing machine tasks.  Administer machine operations and production of parts to safely meet production requirements.

  

   DUTIES    TIME

 

·         Leads team line                                                                                            40%

·         Assures machines and tools are running efficiently                              30%

·         Performs safety and quality inspections                                                  10%

·         Maintains a clean work environment                                                        10%                                                                                                                              ·         Completes documentation requirements                                                10%                                                         STANDARDS

· Starts up and shuts down Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines

· Oversees team’s machine operators, assembly and inspection

· Operates part production’s machine when needed

· Trains workers in procedures for correcting machine malfunctions

· Ensures operators are trained for their assigned activity

· Reassigns workers as needed

· Performs and supervises work to meet production goals

· Ensures machines and tools run in a safe, efficient and quality manner

· Assists operators with any problems that may occur with the machines or tools

· Changes tools and edits machining programs

· Performs troubleshooting and daily (level 1) machine maintenance

· Keeps machining liquids at appropriate levels

· Ensures compliance with Statistical Process Control (SPC) with strict use of protective equipment

· Reacts to production non-conformance's according to Quality Procedures

· Sort- remove all items from an area that are not needed for current operations

· Set in order- arrange and label needed items so that they are easy to use, find and put away

· Shine- sweep or mop floors, wipe off machinery, make sure everything stays clean

· Standardize- method you use to maintain the items described above

· Sustain- making a habit of properly maintaining correct procedures

· Meets daily with team at the end of shift to review performance and areas of improvements

· Verifies and keeps production logs and reports

· Performs and reviews shift quality reports and signs off for approval

· Documents motion including machine tool changes and verification logs as required

· Meets daily with Supervisor to discuss issues that may have occurred


 

 

 

CLIMATE

The person in this environment works at a fast pace with multiple priorities. There is no travel required to fulfill this position. This person is expected to take on other tasks as assigned and follow instructions.
