Job Description

Performs general upkeep and repairs to all machines and plant equipment.

Duties

Executes assigned maintenance tasks

  • Performs assigned preventative maintenance tasks
  • Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Responds to and corrects equipment stoppage and mechanical breakdown
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces defective parts
  • Install, start and test all new manufacturing and plant equipment and systems
  • Performs building and grounds maintenance and repairs
  • Assists in manufacturing process problem solving
  • Operates machine shop equipment
  • Practices and complies with all safety and quality procedures

Obtains needed supplies

  • Communicates with appropriate staff when materials are needed
  • Requests spare parts and supplies needed to maintain, repair and improve the equipment efficiency
  • Makes required parts when feasible

Maintains clean work environment

  • Sort-remove all items from an area that are not needed for current maintenance
  • Set in order-arrange and label needed items so they are easy to use, find and put away
  • Shine-sweep or mop floors, wipe off machinery, make sure everything stays clean
  • Standardize-method you use to maintain the items described above
  • Sustain-making a habit of properly maintaining correct procedures

Climate

The person in this environment works at a fast pace with multiple priorities. There is no travel required to fulfill this position
