Job Description

As our Program Manager, Psychiatric Urgent Care you will provide clinical and administrative supervision, program oversight and leadership to staff who provide services to clients with serious psychiatric and/or substance abuse difficulties.

Job Summary: 

As the Program Manager, you will manage the day to day operations of assigned team(s), serving as the primary point of communication, oversight and decision-making regarding program needs, requirements and development.  You will supervise, support, and manage clinical and support staff by training, guiding, coaching, disseminating, delegating responsibilities, evaluating performance and providing performance feedback.

You Will:

Program Management

  • Identify, prioritizes and balances the organizational, programmatic and staffing needs necessary to achieve optimal program objectives
  • Maintain high quality standards of care, including coordination with appropriate internal, external, and social supports
  • Provide comprehensive, community-based services, designed to promote client independence and integration in all aspects of their lives
  • Identify, supports, and implements evidence-based, best and promising practices that are appropriate to clients
  • Develop and maintains program-specific policies and procedures necessary for the operation of assigned team(s) or programs in alignment with center policies
  • Participate in the development and tracking of outcome measures and continuous quality review processes to evaluate and improve program and treatment effectiveness
  • Develop and implement an annual budget to align expenditures to MHP priorities and resources

 Standards and Reporting

  • Maintain and oversees the operation of procedures consistent with MHP standards
  • Oversee application of regulatory and contractual requirements for all relevant contracts, partnerships or other collaborations within responsible team(s) or programs
  • Prepare, develops and manages grants and grant-provided services, as applicable, including timely reporting
  • Evaluate resource management on an on-going basis and recommends new approaches/adjustments to maintain effective resource management
  • Ensure staff meet direct service expectations on an on-going basis
  • Ensure staff completes documentation in a timely manner per MHP policy and procedures

 Communication and Collaboration

  • Regularly collaborates among and between internal and external staff and partners at all levels to manage and enhance professional relationships within MHP and with partner agencies
  • Understand and apply appropriate priorities, strategic initiatives, operational changes and vision in a timely manner
  • Provide information to staff on assigned teams about the rationale and organizational context of salient topics
  • Maintain regular and effective communications with business and partner agencies, clients, families, and support networks, and other customers to develop, support and expand collaborative relationships
  • Actively participates, and plays a leadership role, in MHP initiatives (committees, task forces, etc.)
  • Meet defined individual and department goals, activity metrics and Key Performance Indicators
  • Effectively interact and communicate with other MHP staff/clients/customers/partners/etc.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform other essential functions of the job
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Duties: 

  • Provide program oversight for assigned program by managing day to day operations and decision making regarding program needs, requirements and development
  • Manage the supervision of staff on a routine and frequent basis, specifically through the lens of a recovery orientation, to ensure high quality, effective and efficient services as well as thorough, accurate and timely documentation
  • Provide necessary leadership to ensure effective team management
  • Develop and manage budget for assigned program and ensures team is effectively managed within the designated budget
  • Hire, train, and develop a diverse group of staff who possess a wide range of abilities and professional competencies to deliver effective service to customers
  • Lead regular and frequent staff meetings to promote team work, sustain an aligned and energized work force, promote communication and provide team direction
  • Motivate and values staff around performance excellence, professional development, resource management and participation in important MHP meetings and committees
  • Assess that staff are trained adequately to perform duties
  • Demonstrate awareness, support and appreciation for cultural and diversity issues
  • Demonstrate knowledge, support for and adherence to policies, procedures and regulations that direct MHPs staff, services and business practices
  • Provide guidance and holds staff accountable for compliance
  • Seek consultation as needed to ensure accurate interpretation and consistent application of MHP policies, procedures and practices
  • Models MHP Guiding Principles and PSR Service Delivery Guidelines
  • Establish and clarify expectations, provides on-going coaching and feedback and administers the annual performance review process with employees
  • Ensure consistent performance management among assigned program(s)
  • Manage performance concerns in a timely manner as applicable
  • Identify training needs and provides/arranges training on relevant topics necessary to an effective and efficient functioning of team

Notice $71,180 - $92,550 Annualized Skills & Requirements

What We Need:

  • Relevant Master’s Degree with one or two-year internship and at least five (5)+ years’ relevant work experience OR relevant PhD plus two (2)+ years’ relevant experience
  • Three (3)+ year’s previous supervisory experience required
  • Licensed PhD or PsyD, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT), or ability to receive license within 6 months of hire
