POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of general labor tasks including, but not limited to, machine/equipment operation, visual inspection, measurement, deburring, brushing, cleaning, lifting and moving materials as well as other activities in a safe, timely and productive manner.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Take initiative in creating a safe work environment, paying attention to surroundings and participating in keeping self and coworkers safe.
· Ability to work from Work Instructions and Procedure Sheets Instructions to perform operations at assigned area.
· Operates equipment as directed by supervisor; recognizes variations from proper equipment/machine performance and seeks assistance when other than normal adjustments are required
· Loads, unloads parts and moves materials within the plant by carrying, pushing, rolling or operating material handling equipment.
· Understand and meet or exceed production standards in both quality and quantity, in at least two production areas.
· Perform quality checks as outlined in the procedure; seeks assistance when recognizing quality concerns that are outside the scope of the operator level.
· You are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workspace at all times.
· Use our visual factory aids and tools to continue workflow, for example: a kanban system
· Performs accurate data entry in ERP and payroll systems; maintains accurate records and logs as required
· Contribute to problem solving to improve product quality, providing feedback/suggestions for improvement on work instructions and/or processes
· Employees must understand the general requirements of ISO9001:2008/2015; employees are expected to understand the Quality Policy and have a working knowledge of the Quality Management System in terms of their job function and interaction with process owners.
· Must understand AS9100 and FDA requirements as they relate to Judson Smith.
May perform other duties as requested
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
Although an entry-level position, previous manufacturing experience where a high degree of quality and a required level of part quantities are met would be ideal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum high school diploma or GED
· Ability to follow oral instructions
· Ability to learn and retain the proper use of and interpret a micrometer and, as needed, calipers and verniers.
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
· Acute attention to detail
· Basic computer skills, including accurate data entry
· Effective communication language skills – both written and verbal
