This is an in-office position at our Minneapolis, MN headquarters.

The HR Assistant brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using a thoughtful and resourceful approach to navigate challenges and keep things running smoothly. This individual is detail-oriented and thorough, with excellent communication skills that make it easy to collaborate across departments. In this fast-paced, high-volume environment, they stay organized, manage competing priorities, and maintain a positive, can-do attitude.

This role is ideal for a team player who enjoys wearing multiple hats, taking initiative, and going the extra mile—someone who finds energy in helping people, improving processes, and making a meaningful impact every day.

 
Responsibilities:

·         Administer and track employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience

·         Support workers’ compensation processes, including claim coordination, audits, and insurance renewals

·         Assist with unemployment claims management, including responses and documentation

·         Support 401(k) plan administration, including audits and compliance activities

·         Manage and process mid-year changes in benefit platforms and payroll systems with accuracy and efficiency

·         Support annual open enrollment, including meeting coordination and processing benefit elections

·         Maintain employee data in HRIS, benefit, and payroll systems, ensuring timely and accurate updates for new hires, terminations, and status changes

·         Partner with payroll on bi-weekly timesheet reviews and benefit-related imports

·         Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date employee records

·         Assist with recruiting and onboarding activities, including job postings, offer letters, and first-day coordination

·         Coordinate background checks, MVRs, credit checks, and drug screenings

·         Complete employment verification requests (written and verbal)

·         Lead and support employee recognition and appreciation initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture

·         Partner with the fleet management team to support vehicle-related processes

·         Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed

Requirements:

·         Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

·         Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

·         Proven ability to manage deadlines, stay organized, and adapt to changing priorities

·         Self-motivated, flexible, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across teams

·         Experience administering leave of absence programs (FMLA, disability, workers’ compensation) preferred

·         Exposure to compliance-related activities such as audits, unemployment claims, or benefits administration strongly preferred

·         Experience with HRIS, benefit, and payroll systems preferred
