World Bean is far from your standard airport coffee experience. We work with some of the best roasters, tea ateliers, bakeries and farmers in North America. Sourcing these incredible products from ethically sound local business is a top priority for us when delivering the ultimate customer experience. OTG is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable candidate for the Coffee Program Manager position based in our New York City office. This person will work directly under our VP of Fast Casual to help manage the growth and development of OTG’s specialty coffee brand, World Bean.


As Coffee Program Manager you will be in charge of coordinating and implementing coffee programs at existing OTG locations, as well as future OTG cafes, restaurants, bars and markets. From hiring, training and managing staff, to overseeing inventory and assessing equipment for maintenance, you will be in charge of our program from the beginning to the end. The perfect candidate for our Coffee Program Manager is an all-around expert on coffee and tea products, preparations, and equipment utilizing these skills to educate and inspire excellence.

 

Responsibilities:

· General management and supervision of World Bean coffee programs across all locations.

· Staff procurement, training and management.

· Operations management, ordering and monitoring inventory.

· Recognize, assess and communicate equipment maintenance issues, follow up to ensure issues are resolved.

· Work with OTG Director of Fast Casual to implement new products, preparations and brewing methods across all locations.

· Constantly enhance personal coffee knowledge and integrate new skills and ideas into coffee training program, while cultivating coffee program expertise in crewmembers.

 

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Professional Certification preferred (e.g. CPSM, NAPM)

 

Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years in specialty coffee industry.

· Ability to travel consistently throughout the US and Canada.

· Flexibility, with the capability to work independently and with minimal guidance.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, able to maintain effective relationships with co-workers and patrons.

· General computer proficiency; Ability to process information through the POS system.

· Knowledge of and adherence to safety and food handling guidelines and procedures.

· Knowledge of and adherence to local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws.

· Ability to operate kitchen equipment, including calibrating espresso machines and grinders, coffee brewers, etc.

Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment and to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
