Job Description

We are looking for a Shift Coordinator on our 3rd shift team!  This position will be responsible for leading the shift production team in a safe, sanitary, efficient and respectable manner, while ensuring that our customers consistently receive product at the highest quality level.  The Shift Manager will lead the production team activities and promote their well trained and motivated team! 



  • Provide job specific training for all production members - 25%
  • Manage shift schedule and arrange relief in the event of absences. 
    • Arrange adjustments in production to minimize downtime - 25%
  • Maintain training matrix of each production team member - 10%
  • Conduct performance reviews, employee feedback & employee development training - 10%
  • Track and maintain employee attendance records - 10%
  • Conduct accident investigations and reporting requirements - 10%


  • Lead safety initiatives to ensure safe working conditions for team members and compliance with all state/federal regulations.
  • Leads and communicates team initiatives through regular shift team meetings.
  • Instruct, train and assure compliance of the plant's GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other food safety standards.
  • Assist Shift Manager with providing leadership to Production Team Leads and a staff of approx. 53 employees on multiple lines.
  • Organize production activities in a timely and cost-effective fashion to ensure that internal and external customer needs are met.
  • Lead and communicate team initiatives through regular shift team meetings.
  • Coordinates emergency response activities.


Skills & Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field of study preferred.
  • Experience and additional training in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, BRC/SQF and AIB are ideal.
  • 1-5 years in a production management role in a food, beverage or CPG environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, Computer and Manufacturing systems.
  • Advanced verbal, reading, writing, mathematical and cognitive skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, as well as team building and the ability to work well within a diverse culture.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with other senior managers to achieve Company and customer goals.
  • Demonstrated skill in coaching, motivating and team development.
  • Ability to work assigned hours, off-shifts, and overtime (including occasional weekend and holiday hours.)
  • Must work closely with others in a team atmosphere and independently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, reach, lift, pull, push, stoop, squat, bend, and stretch as needed throughout shift.
  • Ability towork in variable environmental conditions (ie. hot, cool, humid.)



In addition to specific hands-on machine operation and/or area training, employees in the position will be required to successfully complete training including but not limited to:

  • OSHA required safety training
  • Food Safety training
  • GMP training
  • IPM training
  • Shop floor cross training
  • Other training as determined by the Company

Travel Requirements:

May be required occasionally as needed.
