Job Description

Weston Foods is a leading North American bakery company with a specialized focus across all key bakery categories, including breads and rolls, donuts, pies, cakes, alternatives breads, and others. We bake our products in more than 40 bakeries across Canada and the USA, conducting our business with integrity, contributing to our communities, and fostering a respectful culture. At our bakery on Fenmar Drive in North York, which is transit accessible 24 hours a day and easily accessed by car from the 400, 401, 407, and 427 highways, we produce a number of delicious products across our bakery categories, including Rubschlager packaged rye bread and artisan ciabattas and baguettes. Our team here is close-knit and tenured, and we’re seeking a new Lead Hand to oversee the packing of finished product for shipment.


Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and team work among Team Members 

Conduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members

Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Team Members

Verifying proper packaging materials and ensuring proper product in being placed within the packaging

Ensures a safe working environment at all times by enforcing Company standards and follows-up on regular inspections

Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a quality issue

Ensures Good manufacturing Practises (GMP) procedures are being followed.

Responsible for all packaging quality paperwork and ensuring accuracy.

Ensures every Team Member on the packaging line receives their entitled break and proper coverage is provided

Report all incidents and non-conformances to your supervisor immediately

Must maintain a clean and sanitized work area and follow all 5”S” processes.

Follow instructions and directions shift supervisors.

Reports any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate parties

Work in a safe and conscientious manner.

May be asked by Shift Leader to perform general labor duties when needed as well as be assigned additional duties

 Perform all other task and duties assigned to you by your supervisor.



Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal) a must.

Basic Math skills required.

Ability to follow directions of supervisor and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety rules and regulations.

Must be able to work weekends, including Saturday & Sundays as required.

Must have and maintain a strong attendance record.

Must be free of all allergens in a food/bakery environment.
