At our bakery on Fenmar Drive in North York, which is transit accessible 24 hours a day and easily accessed by car from the 400, 401, 407, and 427 highways, we produce a number of delicious products across our bakery categories, including Rubschlager packaged rye bread and artisan ciabattas and baguettes. Our team here is close-knit and tenured, and our baking methods are more traditional in nature; we’re hiring a new mixer that will be responsible for mixing, developing, and monitoring the dough quality in pre-production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up mixing station with appropriate ingredients as specified in formula sheets.
Ability to scale all major and minor ingredients to produce consistent quality dough.
Check dough quality before processing and monitor temperatures/Consistency.
Setup and operate equipment includes but not limited to mixers, depositor, conveyors, etc
Equipment and work areas must be kept organized, clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
End of shift requires removal of any waste and garbage generated during the shift
Assist Lead Hand and Supervisor in proactively identifying problems and providing solutions
Fulfil relief duties as required.
Ensure mixers are always in good state of repair
Maintain a safe, organized work area according to company’s 5”S” policy
Work in a safe and conscientious manner.
Ensure equipment, tools and ingredients bins are properly cleaned and stored at end of production shift.
Perform all other task and duties assigned to you by your supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work in an allergen (grain & seeds) food/bakery environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) a must.
Basic Math skills required.
Ability to follow directions of supervisor and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety rules and regulations.
Must be able to work weekends, including Saturday & Sundays as required.
Must have and maintain a strong attendance record.
